Intersectional Humanities

A capacious and provocative vision of intersectional inquiry across the Arts and Humanities!

Our
Story

The Intersectional Humanities research strength in the Arts and Humanities Research Institute (AHRI) at Maynooth, National University of Ireland is the home of intersectional researchers in Ireland and a leader in the space of Intersectional Humanities in Europe. This interdisciplinary research focus brings together scholars working in Media Studies, Literature and Modern Languages, Irish and Celtic Studies, Music, and Philosophy. Featuring emergent and established voices, the Intersectional Humanities research strength has two public programs. The first of these is a weekly lecture series on Thursday lunchtimes from 1-2. This is livestreamed on zoom and you can register on eventbrite. The second is an open writing group on Wednesday afternoons. This writing group is designed to cultivate intersectional analysis and to provide support for those working on projects related to race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexuality and disability. Practitioners and scholars are welcome to join this group. Email anna.hickeymoody@mu.ie to register.
